Drom, literally a road from the Greek Dromos, signifies a journey in the universal Romani or gypsy culture. The ancient gypsies were fearless explorers, true to their romantic spirit, people of the earth and very creative. From their origins in India, they spread through the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. As they have touched different cultures in their journeys, they have created different versions of their music, food and art. In that sense, they are the forbearers of modern human beings. Rootless and yet citizens of the world.

Many of you are undoubtedly familiar with your own journeys on this road with wonderful stops - in fact serai - on the way such as St. Marx Café, Maia Meyhane, New York Gypsy Festival, Jazz Made In Turkey and many other events.
