Flute Bar in New York City submitted Description
Flûte Champagne Lounge is the brainchild of Frenchman Hervé Rousseau, who wanted an upscale but comfortable space where guests could have a "Champagne experience" whether they came for caviar and bubbly or cocktails with friends.
Each of the three Flûte lounges was designed with the same sensibilities in mind: elegant but laid back. Guests will always find Flûte's signature candle-lit alcoves, dramatic wine cellar displays and plush velvet banquets. At the same time, each lounge has a unique vibe, which comes from its location and layout. Each location also has its own collection of original artwork that sets it apart.
The inspiration for Flûte came from a passion for French Champagne, an appreciation of Art Deco style, and the first location's speakeasy history. The era of secret passwords, bootleg booze and police raids lingers in Flûte's intimate design, which invites guests to disappear into a curtained booth to sip Champagne. Flûte Midtown celebrates its past with regular "Prohibition Night" parties where the 1920's come roaring back.
The menu boasts a carefully selected list of 100 Champagnes and sparkling wines by the bottle and 15 by the glass. Familiar Grande Marque Champagnes are joined by rare and exceptional vintages, boutique Champagnes and large format bottles. The "Magic Flutes" tasting flight offers guests the chance to compare three different Champagne styles side by side.
A full bar of still wines, beer, liquor and innovative cocktails is also available.
Appetizers and desserts round out the menu. Vietnamese Fusion Spring Rolls are the savory specialty. These cool rice paper wraps are the perfect pairing for Champagne and cocktails and are available with five different fillings. Foie gras, smoked salmon, cheese and warm appetizers complete the menu along with caviars from Petrossian Paris.
Guests with a sweet tooth will enjoy chocolates from La Maison du Chocolat,
